James Technology Course at Maunders
This workshop offers a hands-on, collaborative experience focused on recording and music production. Participants will explore a range of recording techniques using the diverse spaces and instruments available within the studio. The sessions are designed to be open and inclusive, allowing students the opportunity to bring in their own projects or simply attend to develop new skills and contribute to the creative process.
Depending on the focus of each session, we may record full band performances using various studio setups or concentrate on specific elements, such as detailed drum recording sessions. A portion of the workshop will also be dedicated to the post-production process, including editing and mixing. Students will learn how to shape raw recordings into refined, professional-sounding tracks.
Participants are encouraged to bring a laptop equipped with a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) of their choice, along with an external storage device. While any DAW is welcome, students will be introduced to Pro Tools | First, a free version of the industry-standard audio editing software. It offers high-quality mixing plugins and robust editing capabilities, making it an excellent tool for learning and production
