Evan is a multifaceted musician whose passion for creativity and expression has led to a wide variety of experience in the music industry and education. With a Bachelor of Arts (hons) in Popular Music, specialising in drumming, and a background of working in SEN and SEMH settings, Evan brings an adaptable and empathetic approach to teaching music. Starting in Jazz and Big Bands, at a young age Evan had experience working on musicals as a drummer and percussionist for shows such as Sister Act, Les Miserables and Jesus Christ Superstar.
Since leaving university Evan has planted roots in the Manchester music scene, working as a session musician, sound engineer and producer across Greater Manchester.
He has made regular performances in a variety of bands, including playing festivals, touring, and working on international collaborations. His experience of composition and music production enables Evan to bring a breadth of knowledge to his lessons. Evan grew up supporting people with different learning styles and has been a teacher and coach in both classroom and social settings, recently completing a Level 3 qualification in Speech and Language.
He brings practical teaching methods to provide a tailored learning experience that explores more than just how to play drums, but also how to find physical and emotional benefits from learning music for the rhythm section. Using a variety of genres including Rock, Punk, Jazz, Gospel, RnB, Soul, Funk, Metal, Ska and Reggae, Evan will work with you to create an individual approach based on your interests.
Evan can also provide structured support towards taking grades with Rockschool or Trinity.
